►The Thrasher Research Foundation:  The Thrasher Research Fund provides grants for pediatric medical research. The Fund seeks to foster an environment of creativity and discovery aimed at finding solutions to children's health problems. The Fund awards grants for research that offers substantial promise for meaningful advances in prevention and treatment of children's diseases, particularly research that offers broad-based applications

► Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation:   The Grand Challenges family of initiatives fosters innovation to solve key health and development problems, many of them targeted at pediatric disease and under 5 mortality. Grant opportunities are focused and problem-based and change each funding cycle

► Fogarty Institute: Mission to advance science in global health. Provides funding for investigator-initiated clinical research, specific PRA programs, and fellowships for trainees who 
wish to spend significant time abroad

► Doris Duke Foundation: The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation supports four national grant-making  programs  including  the  Medical  Research  Program  and  African  Health  Initiative.  The  foundation supports physician-scientists in the United States at different stages of their careers  through competitive award programs and-develop-clinical-research-careers

► USAID: Offers specific global health grants often in partnership with other organizations. Grand Challenges for Development focus global attention and resources on specific, well defined international development problems

► Rockefeller  Foundation   Transforming  Health  Systems  initiative,  aims,  to  catalyze  innovations  and actions that create broader access to affordable, quality health services in developing countries and help contribute to greater resilience.
